I remember how you used to wake me up each morning
Sitting on my chest and licking my face
Claws digging into my duvet
How you would get any one of us to serve you breakfast
And the gratitude you showed with the cockroaches you caught
Which you proudly display outside my room

You are the only cat I know who gets his face cleaned by a towel
Your teeth brushed and your ears cleaned every morning
Breakfast was always the highlight of your day
Your fussiness is unparalleled
Steamed chicken and fried fish with a dash of salt
Your favorite food which I will always share when I have some

You had your place at our dinner table and you always will
Lapping at your milk and sitting with us while we eat
The games I played with you when you were young
The little hunting sessions when you were older
I still remember how proud you were
When you caught your first bat that flew into our home

I will miss your warm soft eyes
I will miss your furry funky presence
I will miss your royal ?meow?

You lived a full life
I am glad we all gave you happiness, contentment and comfort
You gave your family back in kind

I know dad will miss you even if he doesn’t say so
Mum misses you the most
