Most of us would have the need to do this at any one time when we use our Macs. In fact for me it is more of a daily occurrence. As always, I?d like to share what I have stumbled upon and this time it comes in the form of AltoMac Filemailer.

Just drag and drop whatever files you need to send to your intended recipient and Filemailer does the rest. No more circumstance emails or whatever. Everything?s automated. For the full write up on what Filemailer is all about, visit Altomac?s site.

I chanced upon this recently whilst looking for some photoshop plug-ins. Not exactly what commercial plug-ins can offer but some of the stuff in here are worth a look especially if you use photoshop more as a hobbyist than for professional use.

Goodbye Old Friend Thursday, 18 September, 2008

Goodbye my friend,

We’ve spent many happy moments together
You?ve cheered me up and listened to me
Even though you could never understand each and every word
You still showed your unconditional love

I remember how you used to wake me up each morning
Sitting on my chest and licking my face
Claws digging into my duvet
How you would get any one of us to serve you breakfast
And the gratitude you showed with the cockroaches you caught
Which you proudly display outside my room

You are the only cat I know who gets his face cleaned by a towel
Your teeth brushed and your ears cleaned every morning
Breakfast was always the highlight of your day
Your fussiness is unparalleled
Steamed chicken and fried fish with a dash of salt
Your favorite food which I will always share when I have some

You had your place at our dinner table and you always will
Lapping at your milk and sitting with us while we eat
The games I played with you when you were young
The little hunting sessions when you were older
I still remember how proud you were
When you caught your first bat that flew into our home

I will miss your warm soft eyes
I will miss your furry funky presence
I will miss your royal ?meow?

You lived a full life
I am glad we all gave you happiness, contentment and comfort
You gave your family back in kind

I know dad will miss you even if he doesn’t say so
Mum misses you the most
For you are her favorite
But at least in passing, you are going to a place of rest
A place of peace

Goodbye, my “Spawn of Satan”
I know the name is not appropriate for one as you
For you have proven otherwise
For you have brought much joy and love into all our hearts
Goodbye my furry angel

Goodbye my friend, I will miss you

N82 Firmware Upgrade to v30.0.019 Tuesday, 16 September, 2008

European Nokia N82 owners has just received a firmware upgrade to v30.0.019. At this point, I still can’t get my mitts on the changelog but from what I know, only Euro1 product codes units apply. Any one with any clue as to when the rest of the world will get the update will be appreciated.

One more thing, Active Notes users may NOT want to upgrade just yet. Active Notes does not work on the N78 with firmware version 12.046 which is bascially S603rdFP2. I should know. I tried. I am not that Symbian-savvy so I can’t vouch for Active Notes until I get the update and try it out myself.

Google Gears out for Safari Tuesday, 16 September, 2008

Google Gears is officially released for Safari today. I haven?t had the chance to try it out yet but I am a little wary of installing third party stuff into Safari. I have had numerous crashes with Safari in the past but as always, I will still try it out and see how well it works.

For those who are not in the know, the introduction of Google Gears into Safari means that you can now access all the Gears-enabled sites (such as Zoho office, WordPress, the new YouTube uploader and Google Docs offline) in Safari. On that aspect alone, this is something Mac users have been lacking from the Windows dominated world and it is a welcome.

On a personal thought, this whole thing is really starting to look at the way how Google is poised to take over the world, sneaking in from behind with software module by module. At the rate things are going, I will not be surprised that within the next 5 to 10 years, none of us may be using Linux, Mac or Windows OSs. I doubt it but hey, it could happen.

A few more weeks to go and one of my fave rock bands is hitting town for the first time. Mötley Crüe will perform in this country for the very first time. Awesome!

34 days to go and counting.

The Crüe Fest is going to be totally awesome. The only thing I am hoping for is that the fuzz here will let these guys blow the stage with the usual pyrotechnics and light show.

I have started listening to Crüe again and I tell ya, it is good to be reminded that not everything in life is about working the grind, being serious and growing old. There is more to life than what we see and hear each day. We should celebrate life no matter what we have even if tomorrow is our last day on earth. Life is about living to the max and being who we are. LIfe will always be a journey and I?m on my way.

Be free. Rock Hard.

Home Sweet Home!

You know I’m a dreamer
But my heart’s of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn’t come home low
Just when things went right
Doesn’t mean they’re always wrong
Just take this song and you’ll never feel
Left all alone

Take me to your heart
Feel me in your bones
Just one more night
And I’m comin’ off this
Long & winding road

I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight
I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home sweet home

You know that I’ve seen
Too many romantic dreams
Up in lights, fallin’ off the silver screen

My heart’s like an open book
For the whole world to read
Sometimes nothing keeps me together at the seams

I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight
I’m on my way
Just set me free
Home Sweet Home
Home Sweet Home
Home Sweet Home
Home Sweet Home

I’m on my way
I’m on my way
Home Sweet Home
Yeah
I’m on my way
Just set me free
Home Sweet Home

Another gadget to buy? Thursday, 11 September, 2008

Why am I so attracted to shiny electronic gadgets? I just spotted this on the web and it has got me drooling already.

Meet the Sony ICF-CD3iP a fully compatible iPod/iPhone dock/charger alarm clock with CD player, remote control and the usual suspects. Ok, so functionality-wise it is no holy grail of docks but man, you gotta agree with the cool design.

If I were to buy this, I don?t even know where I am going to put this. I already have 3 iPod docks with speakers.

- a Philips micro system with an iPod dock
- a Bose system with an iPod Dock
- a JBL portable iPod dock / speakers

and, a Philips bedside clock with a 7? LCD screen that plays DIVx and reads off an SD card complete with tuner and built in chill out mode.

Maybe I need this for my bathroom?
